Syllabus:Introduction to the evaluation of individual, group, community and organisational interventions for the purpose of guiding future practice, report writing and submission preparation. Includes an understanding of research design appropriate to evaluation studies, awareness of methods of social impact assessment and a recognition of the contribution of the broader domain of research methods.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Demonstrate an understanding of research design appropriate to evaluation studies. Utilise library and electronic media in addressing evaluation questions. Interpret research literature that uses qualitative and quantitative methods. Demonstrate an awareness of social impact methods. Recognise the contribution of the broader domain of research methods. Demonstrate critical thinking in the application of the above. Locate and apply sources of funding.
