Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Comment on issues from a variety of different standpoints. Articulate a critical perspective on the dominant discourse(s) of the helping professions. Demonstrate the ability to reflect on their own work from a critical perspective. Apply critical thinking in developing empowerment strategies with diverse groups. Recognise the contribution of the social ecological perspective to individual and small group work. Demonstrate an understandingof the contributions of feminist theory and cross-cultural counselling. Demonstrate an understanding of Indigenous issues (or other designated group) relevant to counselling work. |
