Syllabus:Role of management accounting in development and implementing business strategies. Theories of business strategy and the way strategy influences control systems. Value chain analysis, strategic cost analysis, total quality management and competitor accounting.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Developed management control systems that align with the business unit strategy. Appraised management accounting practices as an aid to planning and implementing strategies. Demonstrated information search skills on the internet and library databases.
