Syllabus:Drugs and foreign substances, activity, consequences and fate. Analytical techniques for systematic determination of drugs and metabolites in body fluids and tissues. Chromatography and mass spectroscopy, applications and limitations. Immunoassay techniques. Natural toxins. Industrial and domestic toxicants, including heavy metals. Case studies, including cannabis, alcohol and multi-drug abuse. Analytical consequences.
