Syllabus:Definition of toxins - mechanisms of toxins, general principles of toxicology, disposition of toxicants, non-organ directed toxicity, targeted organ toxicity, toxic agents, analytical and forensic toxicology and biotransformation mechanisms.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - Developed a knowledge of exposure to drugs and xenobiotics. Developed an understanding of the mechanisms of absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination of xenobiotics and toxodynamics.
