Syllabus: | Varies from year to year but will normally include development strategies and the historical experience of Asian economies. The role of government in Asian economic development including macroeconomic management, policy towards foreign direct investment, education and domestic savings, trade and industry policy. Regional economic cooperation, integration, economies in transition. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have- Appreciated contempory economic issues in this region. Knowledge of an important marriage of theory and policy that improves their analytical skills. |
