Syllabus: | Development of Indigenous students communication skills required for successful tertiary study. Focus on communication skills required specifically in an academic context, introducing students to a range of academic texts, and providing students with thestrategies and structures to read, comprehend and write effectively and critically. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have - The ability to write, read, speak and listen effectively in a range of social contexts. Demonstrated strong critical thinking and evaluation skills. Demonstrated basic communication skills required for tertiary study - particularly the ability to read academic texts and write competent essays. |
