| Syllabus: | Furthers experience in working in teams to develop a large software project for an industry. Application of team-oriented software engineering experience to improving all phases of the project. Management activities are undertaken and a range of softwareengineering tools are applied to resolve problems arising during the execution of the software development process. |

| Unit Outcomes: | Students work in teams on a major software engineering project, utilising the broad range of skills and knowledge acquired in prior units. Students will further develop and demonstrate the following skills and generic attributes of a professional Software Engineer - the ability to apply knowledge of basic science and engineering fundamentals. In-depth technical competence in the discipline of software engineering and computer science. The ability to undertake problem identification, formulation and solution. An understanding of the professional and ethical responsibilities and commitment to them. Expectation of the need to undertake lifelong learning and the capacity to do so. Well-developed written and verbal technical communication skills. |

| Unit Assessment Breakdown: | At a minimum, assessment for both SE Project 451 and 452 includes a conference format paper, a poster presentation on an an assigned project management role, and an engineering journal. Additional assessments may apply as determined by the project supervisor and industry partner. Weighting on each assessment is negotiated on a project-by-project basis during the first week of semester. This is by grade/mark assessment. |
