Syllabus: | Study of occupational science theory. Relationship to health, quality of life and lifestyle changes. Methodologies to study occupation in context, including social, cultural, emotional, political, economic, environmental and spiritual aspects in the performance of occupations. Application in service delivery and impact on the well being of individuals and community. |

Unit Outcomes: | Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to - Evaluate theoretical assumptions underlying occupational science and analyse how they reflect in practice. Critically analyse the relationship between occupation, health, quality of life and lifestyle changes, and determine the implications for human service delivery. Identify and critique methodologies used in the study of occupation. Evaluate the impact of social, cultural, emotional, political, economic, environmental and spiritual aspects of occupation on the well being of individuals and communities. |
