Syllabus:Therapy services for children with a disability in school. Philosophy and policy on integration and inclusion in education from an Australian and international perspective. Ecological perspective for assessment and intervention. Application of person/environment/task frames of reference. Evidence-based intervention and evaluation of therapy services for school-age children.
 
Unit Outcomes: Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to - Critically analyse current philosophies and legislation for the education of children who have a disability and evaluate the impact on provision of therapy services and the child with a disability.Apply an ecological approach to the assessment and intervention of children receiving therapy services in schools. Evaluate paediatric therapy services within educational contexts, and evaluate the evidence to support therapy interventions.
