Syllabus:Pathology of disease and injury. Inflammatory reaction and repair process of healing in bone, ligament, muscle, nerve, and other soft tissues. Pathology, pathomechanics, aetiology, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of peripheral joints and conditions. Diagnostic tests.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit the student will have demonstrated an advanced level of knowledge of plain film radiography and be familiar with the fundamentals of evaluating peripheral radiographs of the ankle, knee, hip and shoulder regions. Described the rationale for the use of clinical diagnostic tests in the evaluation of peripheral and spinal joint pathologies. Described the aetiology, pathology, diagnosis, differential diagnosis and pathomechanics of common disorders and injuries to the peripheral spinal regions including current surgical evaluation and procedures. Describe the pathology, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, pathomechanics and aetiology of neurovascular disorders in the cervicobrachial region.
