Syllabus:Developmental anatomy of limbs and vertebral column. Histology of tissues. Regional dissection and measurement. Kinematics, in mass, moment of inertia. Force, moment of force. Laws of motion. Free body diagrams and kinetic analysis. Analysis of movement, physiotherapy techniques and injury. Joint motion. Properties of articular cartilage and complex tissue systems.

Unit Outcomes: At the completion of the anatomy component of the unit the student will be able to describe the structure and function of the musculoskeletal system of the trunk and limbs, relate the anatomy to age related and dysfunctional changes with reference to clinical presentations.
