Syllabus:Provides students with exposure to current theoretical developments in business and management. There is an emphasis on integrative theory, although discipline-based theory advances will also be canvassed. Seeks to develop the skills of critical analysisof theory both on the basis of its own assumptions and structure and by exploration of the related research literature.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Searched research databases and literature relevant to current theoretical developments in business. Outlined a contemporary theoretical development in a business discipline or cross discipline area of relevance to his/her own business environment. Designed a communication for a workplace group on an aspect of theory as it relates to business, and business practice. Explored the structure and assumptions of a selection of theoretical models to critically analyse them. Demonstrated an example of the value of integrative theory in business and management practice.
