Syllabus: | A number of individually initiated projects to enable the exploration of issues, themes, and ideas in contemporary Australian society. Traditional techniques and approaches will be developed alongside contemporary techniques and processes to facilitate the development of visual ideas. A portfolio of work will be developed demonstrating your ability to deal with a wide range of issues and ideas through the appropriate choice of traditional and contemporary processes. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Developed ideas into coherent forms. Identified and explored current issues and themes in contemporary Indigenous and Australian art practice. Developed the necessary exploratory processes and research as a means of generating visual ideas. The ability to perpetuate practices to which they have traditional rights and to explore and develop new art practices in response to changing situations. |
