Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - Evaluated the historical, cultural and legal antecedents of contemporary midwifery practice. Related legal and ethical principles to the analysis of critical incidents in midwifery practice. Evaluated a model of maternity care in terms of its effectiveness in meeting the health care needs of a selected childbearing population. Demonstrated the capacity to synthesise a midwifery based framework of maternity care. Developed strategies to effect positive change in maternity care. |
