Syllabus:Examination of empirical research into environmental perception and cognition, personal space and territoriality, anthropometrics and ergonomics as well as ambient conditions. It includes an evaluation of strategies to transform theory into positive outcomes.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Been encouraged to share knowledge and skills between second and third year students. Been exposed to a broad range of design methodologies and practices through the range of studios. Integrated all aspects of student learning, such as graphic, technical and historical, into the design process. Developed comprehension of space, planning skills and problem solving skills. Been encouraged to become resourceful and independent thinkers. An understanding of the link between concept and developed design. Been encouraged to theoretically research information that will inform their designs. Been introduced to the historical and contemporary concepts of design.
