Syllabus:

Methods of computer crime, developing a security business case, personnel security, information classification, law and ethics, security management policies and practices, physical security, user authentication and biometric devices, controls in networks, security of remote access, database security, security incident response, disaster recovery planning and procedures.

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Explained the methods used in computer crime and risk assessment of computer systems and networks. Recommended appropriate security measures to minimise risks and ensure ongoing security and reliability. Developed security incident response and disaster recovery procedures. Recommended security measures for physical access control, logical access control, user authentication and computer networks.
