Syllabus:	Air-water system balance. Social, economic and visual impacts of mining activities. Air and water quality control. Radiation control. Noise, airblast and ground vibrations control. Mined land reclamation and restoration. Environmental impact studies and legislation.
Unit Outcomes:	On completion of this unit students will have - Become aware of the environmental impacts of mining operations and with methods used to minimise these impacts.
