Syllabus:	Theoretical principles and evaluation of occupational therapy practice for children and adolescents with developmental delay or disability who have impairment in psychosocial, cognitive, sensory-motor function. Clinical reasoning to develop child-centredand community based approaches to assessment/intervention that address the effects of impairment on activity, participation and occupational role development.
Unit Outcomes:	On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge of typical age-appropriate competencies to determine the extent of developmental delay and impairment in children and adolescents. Apply appropriate theoretical and practical approaches to occupational therapy practice with children and adolescents. Demonstrate the ability to select, administer and interpret assessments that are appropriate to the needs of the child and adolescent with physical, psychosocial or cognitive dysfunction that include consideration of age, gender, ethnicity, occupations, functional performance and environmental demands. Demonstrate the ability to design and evaluate appropriate interventions for the child and adolescent in relevant environments.
