Syllabus:Basic algebra - transposition of formulae, indices, solution of equations. Trigonometry. Functions - polynomials, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, transformations, inverse. Differential calculus - limits, continuity, differentiation rules. Use of computer software and/or graphics calculators.
 
Unit Outcomes: Students will receive a thorough revision of Algebra and Trigonometry, will be given a broader knowledge of Functions, and will be provided with the necessary background knowledge of Differential Calculus so that they, after satisfactory completion of this unit, can pursue the unit Mathematics 134

Unit Assessment Breakdown: For each module: Worksheets 20%, Computer work 10%, Final test 70%. Each module is of equal value. To complete the course satisfactorily, the test result of each module must be equal than or greater than 35% while the overall result must be equal than or greater than 50%. Students are required to sit for all tests and complete all computer assignments.
