Syllabus:Examination of the issues involved in the evaluation, selection and implementation of electronic document management and records systems. The various techniques for the organisation and indexing of records and documents. Extensive practical use of a number of different products and opportunities to discuss them with a variety of information management professionals.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Described the essential functions of electronic document management systems. Evaluated and managed the implementation of document and records management systems. Explained the underlying theory, which enables effective retrieval systems to be created. Determined the retrieval needs of specific corporate environments. Applied indexing techniques competently.
