Syllabus:Introduction to multimedia concepts, multimedia as a cartographic communication medium, multimedia components and authoring. User interface design. Website development, web-based mapping. Data encoding and compression. Product planning, development and management.
 
Unit Outcomes: On completion of this unit, students will have - An understanding of the concepts of multimedia design, implementation and management, evaluated the effectiveness of multimedia products from a design and implementation perspective, designed and implemented interactive multimedia prototypes using authoring and web based systems and designed and implemented map-based web sites.
