Syllabus:Building Code of Australia - technical requirements and application interpretations, administration, fire resistance, access and egress, services and equipment, health and amenity, ancillary provisions. Introduction to residential planning codes, general provisions, residential set-backs.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- An overview of the legislation and statutory bodies which control the development process. A practical knowledge of the process of development and building control in local government. An understanding of the structure of local government and how it affects development.
