Syllabus: | International trade payment mechanisms including bank methods as well as counter trade methods of import financing, international trade documentation and foreign exchange risk management for trade transactions, forms of preshipment export financing, the role of government export agencies in international trade, country risk assessment and management, international lending and the stability of the international financial system, competitive advantage of nations and national competitive strategy in trade and banking. |

Unit Outcomes: | On completion of this unit students will have- An understanding of international trade flows. An overview of the comparative advantage of nations in strategic international banking and business context. A framework for assessing credit, country risk and managing risk in international banking operations. Explored international banking context areas such as country risk analysis, exchange rate risk management, financing international trade, long-term finance through eurobonds, euro currencies and currency portfolio diversification. |
