Syllabus:Neuroscience, human occupation, acquired brain injury (ABI), diagnosis and medical paramedical management of ABI, neuroplasticity and recovery, neurobehavioural impairments, activities restrictions and occupational roles, interventions and evidence based practice.
 
Unit Outcomes: Upon completion of this unit students will be able to - Relate the diagnosis and medical management of acquired brain injuries and their relationship with prognosis and occupational outcomes. Analyse the variables that affect neuro-plasticity and how they influence learning and recovery of function following acquired brain injury. Analyse the impact of pathologies and impairments on neurobehaviour, activities and occupational role performance. Critique the efficacy of neurological rehabilitation intervention strategies in terms of evidence based rehabilitation practice.
