Syllabus:Introduction to hazards and their management, the concept of risk and its evaluation. Case studies of risk assessment and control strategies.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Demonstrate an understanding of the social and technical dimensions underpinning OHS. Describe the reasons for, and issues involved in, the development of modern best practices in OHS. Summarise the main characteristics of a variety of hazards. Outline the main perspectives contributing to present knowledge of injury and disease causation at work.
