Basic laws of chemistry, including gases, liquids, solids, solutions, and organic chemistry. Basic laws of physics, force motion and energy, the natureof sound and acoustics, light, electricity and nuclear physics. |

| Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have a basic knowledge of - general physics and an understanding of the physical properties, sound, light, magnetism, electricity and heat, general chemistry and be able to identify the different classes of chemicals and their properties. A general awareness of the fundamental principles of physics and chemistry as they may be applied to workplace situations. |
