Syllabus: | Provides an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in the management and implementation of training and development. The view is taken that students are responsible for their own learning and, thus, will be required to participate in a range of activities. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Competence in a range of skills and knowledge. Defined and discussed the role of training and development in the enterprise. Discussed and evaluated current approaches to training and development. Discussed the development of training policies within organizations. Designed and developed training plans, programs and assessment methods. Developed and conducted needs analysis and defined training requirements. Evaluated theories and concepts relating to adult learning and lifelong learning. Organised appropriate training resources. Delivered and evaluated training. Assessed and reviewed progress of trainees. Ensured that training records are maintained. Evaluate the effectiveness of training and report on this; and Promote the training function and its activities within the organisation. |
