Syllabus:Training in the Japanese language aimed at increasing the communicative competence in all the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing and the cultural knowledge associated with the topics dealt with. Further Kanji will be introduced. Both polite and plain styles will be used and honorific expressions will be covered. Not available to students whose first language is Japanese.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have - The ability to talk, write and read about automobiles and transportation, body and health, life and career and communication and media. The ability to express expectation, attempts, analogy and appearance among others. The ability to do things such as buying medication, seeing the doctor and participating in the job interview. Added approximately one hundred and ten kanji to their knowledge. Gained some writing skills through essay and letter writing.
