| Syllabus: | Principles of pharmacology, application of basic and clinical pharmacological knowledge to therapeutics. Mechanisms of drug action, toxicity and interaction. Drugs acting on the central nervous system, on the peripheral nervous systems, cardiovascular, gastro-intestinal, endocrine and musculoskeletal systems. Antibacterial and antifungal agents. Drugs used in dermatology. Pathophysiology of respiratory and renal diseases and drugs used in their treatment. |

| Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - Demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge of the principles and practice of clinical pharmacology and therapeutics. Applied this knowledge to appropriate areas of podiatric practice. |
