Syllabus: | Examination of the visual arts of Australia's Aboriginal cultures, exploring the context and significance of the visual arts in Aboriginal society, the diversity of Aboriginal visual arts and styles in past and present visual arts. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- An understanding of the context and significance of Aboriginal visual culture. An appreciation of the immense diversity within Aboriginal visual culture. Discussed the emergence of Aboriginal visual art within a contemporary Australian cultural context. An awareness of contemporary issues in the production of Aboriginal art, with particular reference to Aboriginal perspectives on these issues. Developed the critical skills to assess and discuss the place of Aboriginal visual art within a contemporary Australian and international context. |
