Syllabus: | Introduction to real property law, including the role of equity. The meaning of land - estates and interests in land, adverse possession of land, dividing fences. Introduction to native title to land. Background to the Torrens system, features and operation of the Torrens system. Overview of co-ownership and strata titles, leases and Torrens mortgages. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - A practical awareness of fundamental principles of real property law. Acquired a working knowledge of relevant statute and case law. Identified the nature of real property law problems. Understood how to apply relevant legal principles to solve hypothetical property law problems. |
