Syllabus:Understanding liquidity and balance sheet risk management techniques, financial markets supervision, decision-making processes and policy formulation in financial institutions and current practices and issues in bank management, measuring and evaluatingbank performance.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Judge whether a banker's actions are both ethical and within their Code of Practice. Explain the purpose of bank regulation and discuss current prudential controls applicable to banks generally, and specifically to banks in Australia. Calculate regulatory ratios and risk measures from a simplified bank balance sheet. Recognise situations where banks are exposed to financial risks and correctly suggest techniques for managing those risks.
