Syllabus:Introduction to econometrics with a mineral and energy sector focus. Understanding economic data. Developing theoretical relationships and issues in econometric modelling. Estimation, testing, identifying and correcting econometric problems. Methodological perspectives on modelling in econometrics. Actual tuition undertaken as 16 hours of class in a four day module.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- An appreciation of fundamental concepts in econometrics and the ability to use them to analyse problems in mineral economics.
