Syllabus: | Delivery of health maintenance and promotion strategies to a selected client population. Evaluation of strategies through the establishment of outcome criteria and application of standards of practice. Nursing process as the organising framework. Multidimensional assessment of health. Biological, psychological, social, cultural and developmental dimensions of human beings. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Provided advanced clinical nursing care to maintain and promote the health of a selected client population. Prepared and evaluated a personal philosophy of advanced clinical nursing practice in relation to a selected client population. Evaluated the roles of the advanced nurse practitioner in the provision of care to maintain and promote the health of a selected client population. Utilised the principles of scientific inquiry in the evaluation ofnursing care to maintain and promote the health of a selected client population. Identified the decisions nurses in selected functional roles make that are dependent upon knowledge of advanced practice for a selected client population. Collaborated with members of the health care team and others to provide health maintenance and promotion strategies to a selected client group. |
