Syllabus: | The Honours program is intended to allow for a fourth year of studio practice to extend projects in which the potential for further development has been established in preceding course work. The central objectives are to extend and develop skills acquired during a relevant (three year) BA program and to acquire new knowledge and research skills. Students will undertake independent research into theoretical studies associated with the studio project. The program emphasises the interconnectedness of theoryand practice. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Clearly articulated the conceptual basis of their studio practice. Clearly articulated their research concerns in appropriate written language. Demonstrated independent research skills in relation to their studio practice. Demonstrated a high level of skills resolution with specific and appropriate media. Demonstrated and articulated an advanced understanding of the relationship between studio practice and contemporary visual arts theory. Clearly identified an appropriate working methodology. Shown evidence of an ability to identify and critique strengths and weaknesses within their studio practice. Identified appropriate research methods relevant to the successful completion of their project. |
