Syllabus:	A major computing project, selected in consultation with an academic staff member.
Unit Outcomes:	On successful completion of this unit students will achieve competence and experience in the conduct of an independent research project in an area of computer science, through the generation of a large written report. The unit will prepare the student for a career in an academic or industrial research and development environment.

Unit Assessment Breakdown:	The project report will be examined by the Supervisor and one other member of the Academic Staff and moderated by a panel of Academic Staff. The examiners may require an interview with the student to clear up any issues with the project report. To pass the unit the student must have an officially allocated supervisor prior to the start of the semester and must satisfy attendance meeting requirements as agreed with the Supervisor. A Project Report must be submitted by the Friday of the Study Week and anydemonstration, seminar, testing session, etc. must be assessed as agreed with the Supervisor, and The overall assessment must be at least 50%. This is by grade/mark assessment.
