Syllabus:Deals with themes relevant to contemporary design inquiry in the social context of future professional design activities. Seeks to broaden debate on the themes presented by recognizing the transportation of macro issues across major specialism areas and considering these in the context of broad contemporary and individual local practice.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Engaged and experienced the process and practice of the structured inquiry. A range of reflective practice techniques in a group and personal context. Demonstrated an understanding and application of the following techniques - Qualitative Enquiry, The Dynamics of group work, Reflective Practice, Communication Theory, Cognitive development theory and Critical cognitive conflict. Participated in WEBCT (25%) activities - unit outline, group identity, project reporting , timing and management developments, discussion of developing issues, analysis and discussion through a dedicated forum.
