Introduction
An agribusiness management and marketing education and training combined with technical training in principles of viticulture, grape and wine production and sensory evaluation. This course provides opportunity to maximise Western Australia's competitive advantage by meeting the need for management and marketing skills education in the viticulture industry. The learning model provides research skills that will give the ability to assume leadership roles within the viticultural industry as well as in the broader agribusiness sector.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
Refer to admissions into Honours Degree programs and regulations for honours degrees (General Information section of the Curtin Courses Handbook ). Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated an ability and interest in research and a commitment to academic excellence

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability
This course is one year full time or equivalent part-time study.

Course Organisation
This program consists of project work over two semesters. Agribusiness Project Design 401- undertaken as the first stage of the project work. Agribusiness Honours Project 402 - is the final component of the research project and covers the execution and writing of the project begun in Agribusiness Project Design 401. A detailed review of the relevant literature will be completed under the guidance of the supervisor and if necessary, refine the program objectives. The necessary research and analyticalskills will be developed that are required to assemble and analyse the results of the dissertation.

Professional Recognition
Graduates are eligible for membership of the Australian Institute Agricultural Science [AIAIS].

Career Opportunities
Graduates will find employment with industries associated with the supply chain of the viticultural industry, including banks, as consultants, as development officers etc.

Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
