| Laboratory practice - accuracy and precision, requesting and interpreting laboratory tests, quality assurance and biological specimens. Instrumentation - photometry and microscopy. Haematology - structure, function and morphology of the components of blood, cell counting, structure and function of haemoglobin, platelets and reticulocytes, the ESR and RBC indices, blood count and grouping. Biochemistry - biomolecules, basic concepts of metabolism, energy production and storage and metabolism of glucose. |
