Examination and the role of the medical laboratory and disciplines in laboratory science. Laboratory practice - including equipment, safety, accuracy and precision, requesting tests, interpretation of results, quality assurance, biological specimens, andlaboratory mathematics - evaluation of laboratory methods including basic statistics and assessment of analytical and clinical validity. Laboratory instrumentation - microscopy and photometry. Separation techniques including electrophoretic and chromatographic systems.
