Introduction to a range of professional approaches used in working with individuals. Historical evolvement and opportunity to undertake an holistic exploration of many personal and social dimensions of professional practice. Exploration of a diverse range of approaches in working with individuals, including an introduction to some of the central theories of case work - Feminism, Cognitive Behaviouralism, and Solution Focused Frameworks. Ethical foundations of professional practice with some of the value dilemmas commonly encountered in practice. Provides an understanding of how theory frameworks and practice applications can be used in groupwork, family practice, community work, research, social administration and social policy.
