Directed study and research. Algorithms and mathematical models for use in modern cartography including triangulation for DTM generation, skeletonization, analytical hill shading, surface rendering for visualisation and animation, dynamic cartographic presentation, artificial intelligence in cartography, intelligent cartographic databases, map data structures and error modelling.
