Five study components - typography, design principles and techniques, photographic imagery, design fro print and digital rendering. Studio sessions will introduce appropriate digital rendering techniques as well as the creative use of various types of grid systems for effective communication in design principles. Typography will include a three week project which will provide a deeper understanding of the potential of type. The photographic component of this unit will address the possibilities of seeing and recording through the lens of a camera as a design process, and visual communication through photo image composition. The computing component in addition to machine operation, will introduce image compositing and processing, headline page and editorial makeup software. |
