Prerequisite(s):302246 (v.2) ChE 221 Fluid Mechanics or any previous version
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD/CFX) is a computer-based tool for simulating the behaviour of systems involving fluid flow, heat transfer and other related physical processes. It works by solving the equations of motion (in a special form) over a region of interest, with specified (known) conditions on the boundary of that region. The course will provide basics of CFX, including geometry creation, model selection, setting boundary condition, meshing and analysing results, and hands-on experience with the use of CFX5.
