Bacterial genetics, mechanisms of resistance to antimicrobial agents and the spread and epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance. The role of microorganisms in plant and animal diseases. Pathogenesis. The role of microorganisms in the environment, public health and pollution. Commercial applications of microorganisms, particularly in genetic engineering and biotechnology. |
