Introduction
This stream provides for students who have completed a minimum of two years of a degree in the behavioural or social sciences or equivalent, at a recognised university and are seeking a professional qualification in social work. It encompasses a broad base of social and behavioural science subjects in combination with the study of social work theory and practice, in both class and field settings. It focuses on the development of theoretical and practical knowledge and understandings that are integral tosocial work praxis. It builds on and incorporates previous learning and facilitates the development of social work understandings and skills including working with individuals and families, groups and communities, social policy and administration and research inquiry.
