189804 v.3 Master of Engineering Science (Telecommunications and Networking)
MEngSc(Curtin)
Introduction
The specialist needs in telecommunications and network design required by the telecommunications industry can no longer be met within the framework of the Bachelor of Engineering degree. This masters program provides its graduates with the analytical and design skills required by industry with both course and project work focusing on the modelling, analysis, implementation and realisation of systems.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
Admission to the program is available to candidates who have a degree in the relevant branches of engineering, science, applied or computer science. Candidates without an honours degree may be accepted at the discretion of the Head of School depending on their level of professional experience but may be required to take a qualifying course.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
Duration and Availability
This fee paying course is one year full-time study or equivalent part-time study. Part-time progression is subject to availability and sequencing of units within the program.
Course Organisation
The course comprises a total of 8 units with 5 of these being core units, two of which must be project units approved by the Head of School, specified for the program. A student is required to take the core units listed and three other units from the list
Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
