305540 v.1 Bachelor of Science (Applied Geology), Bachelor of Commerce (Legal Studies)
BSc(Curtin), BCom(Curtin)
Introduction
This double degree provides students with an integrated education program in both exploration/applied geology and commerce. It provides dual qualifications in these areas and develops graduates with unique opportunities to obtain employment in resource development and related fields involving natural resource management. The Bachelor of Commerce places an emphasis on decision making, trends in technology and associated work patterns and other aspects of management in a highly competitive business arena. The programs emphasise both theoretical concepts and the application of knowledge to commerce and industry. The legal studies major provides students with knowledge and skills relevant to working in business or government in a para-legal capacity. These skills are closely linked to issues relating to legislation dealing with mining and petroleum tenaments and are therefore a vital part of resource exploration and development.
