Introduction
The course is designed for migrant and international students needing to develop their English language proficiency in order to meet Curtin's literacy requirement.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
An English proficiency level of not less than IELTS band 5 in all four skill areas, or a TOEFL score of 520 or a CUTE D (in addition to the University's standard entry requirements).
Duration and Availability
This course is offered in both full-time and part-time modes for permanent residents. Only the full-time mode is available to international students due to visa requirements.
Course Organisation
In full-time mode, students take all four units over one semester. In part-time mode, the four units of the course are conducted over two semesters.
Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
